MEYSSE

Harmonious town made of white shingle and black basalt, Meysse offers you a historic walk. If you take the time to go into the little streets, they will lead you to St Jean Baptiste, a roman church registred, architectural treasure from the High Middle Age which shelter an Early Christian baptistery. Baptism was practiced by immersion in an octangular vat, one of the oldest in France.
Around the church, streets and vaulted passegeway will make you discover the fountain which supplied the baptistory before.
Stop in front of the Miraval Barons House, and its coat of arm which witness a sumptuous Middle Age. This village has 1100 inhabitants.
On the road of Privas, a few kilometers away, a nice picnic area, well equipped, is in front of the « 4 sous » secondhand trade. There, you can find anything, a real Ali Baba cavern , it's quite surprising.
For the ones who love big spaces, they will love the hiking paths along the Lavezon, lovely little river, or under the trees of the Barrès forest. Numerous hiking paths of the GR42 are also there.
You will find 3 town parks with children games
